Sesshomaru starts showing he has a heart in eppie 35. This is going to be mainly

SO, anyhoo…enjoy and please review!
‘thoughts’
flashback
Nasia Setsugya sighed softly as
she walked down the busy street from her school to home. It was another
typically busy day in Tokyo, but for some reason the fifteen years old girl was
somewhat uneasy. Her friend Kagome was gone again that day, her grandfather
claiming she had hives and her rheumatism had flared up once again.
Finding herself grinning at
that thought, Nasia shook her head. ‘Why does he tell such obvious lies? And
more importantly…why do the others believe it?’ she wondered as she looked up at
the somewhat cloudy sky. She grinned as she thought about her friend. They
hadn’t been friends for long, basically because Nasia had just moved to Tokyo
for her father’s change of job. Shy and studious, the young raven haired girl
had kept to herself in hopes that maybe, this time she would avoid getting
teased.
And it had worked for a while,
but it would seem she couldn’t escape it. After a few weeks, some of the school
bullies decided she was worth picking on and proceeded to do so. But Kagome, in
defense of the shy girl, had told them where to put it. After that, they had
become fairly good friends and Nasia had started hanging out with Kagome and her
group.
That was why it was so amusing
when their friends believed the lies told by Kagome’s grandfather.
“Oh Kagome! You shouldn’t be
here! Your grandfather said that your bunions were acting up along with your
hives!”
Kagome growled softly in irritation as her eye
twitched. “I feel fine.”
Nasia giggled softly and leaned closer to Kagome
as they walked into school. “It’s amazing how much people will believe. Don’t
worry…I know you’re healthy.”
Looking at her friend in surprise, Kagome said,
“You mean you don’t believe grandpa?”
Winking and shaking her head, Nasia replied,
“Nope…but I am curious on why you are always gone. Perhaps you will tell me
sometime.”
‘Sometime indeed. Kagome hasn’t
been back since then and now I’m worried,’ Nasia thought with a worried frown.
She sighed softly and started walking again for home. She stopped suddenly and
looked over towards Kagome’s family shrine. ‘What’s this feeling? It feels like
there is a rip…and it’s starting from Kagome’s place!’ she thought in confusion,
then stared as a black crack shimmered into being above the shrine.
Glancing around her at the
other people, Nasia saw, to her shock, that no one else saw what she was seeing.
Looking back over in growing fear, Nasia watched as it spread. Suddenly, it shot
out and blackness surrounded her as the world vanished from her. With a cry of
surprise, Nasia found herself falling. ‘What’s happening!?’
~*~*~*~
Jakken sighed softly as he
followed the elegant man in front of him. He glanced over in distaste at the
little girl that followed his master just as faithfully. ‘Why is such a human
with us? And why did Sesshomaru-sama save her pathetic life?!’ he wondered, not
for the first time. He cried out as
he ran into Sesshomaru’s leg as the demon stopped, looking around as if hearing
something. “Sesshomaru-sama! What is it?” Jakken asked as he rubbed his face.
“I hear something…no,
rather…someone,” Sesshomaru’s soft, yet elegant voice spoke as he glanced
around. Slowly, he turned in another direction and began walking towards the
source of his quest. ‘I smell blood…and I sense a strange aura around this one…’
he thought to himself as he strode purposefully towards the source of the sense
he was picking up.
Silently, he came upon two
burly looking demons as they stood over a very frightened looking young woman.
She tried to scoot away, but the one on the right grabbed her leg, laughing
lowly as she shrieked in terror. Sesshomaru watched them impassively, but his
eyes were filled with curiosity as he noted her strange clothing. ‘She is
dressed much like Inuyasha’s woman. I wonder…does she come from the same strange
land? What is her purpose here?’ he wondered silently as he watched.
“Help me! Someone please!” the
young woman cried out as the two demons grabbed her and pinned her down. She
sobbed in terror as one licked her neck, and then prepared to bite down. “HELP
ME!!” she screamed and Sesshomaru watched in amazement as a strange light
flashed from her and pushed the two demons away violently.
Growling in rage, the two got
up, but they never made it as a green whip sliced through them and stopped their
advance cold. Sniffling and shivering in fear, the young woman looked over as
Sesshomaru put his hand down and looked over at her. Their eyes locked and time
seemed to stop as they gazed at each other. Sesshomaru found himself caught by
her penetrating gaze, soft blue eyes gazing into harder mirrors. Jakken's
insistent pestering broke the spell as the imp ran in and the two looked over at
him.
But the little girl that had
taken to following the demon lord ran over to the older girl and looked at her
questioningly. The older girl smiled slightly at the concern, then asked softly,
“Hello there…are you with that man that saved me?” The little girl nodded
happily as she smiled adoringly.
Jakken though protested loudly.
“You show more respect for Sesshomaru-sama! He is not a mere human but a great
demon-AH!” he squawked as he was hushed up by Sesshomaru.
“That’s enough, Jakken,”
Sesshomaru said quietly as he walked over to the two young girls. He knelt next
to them and questioned softly, “Are you all right now?”
The older girl nodded slightly
as she watched him with tearful eyes. “Thank you for helping me. I am sorry if I
offended you,” she answered quietly as a couple of tears rolled down her face.
“That is all right…” Sesshomaru
found himself saying before he stopped himself. He wasn’t sure what was
happening to him, but he knew he had to keep in control. He stood up again and
turned to leave. "You best get going. There will be more coming soon," he
suggested quietly as he stepped away.
"W-wait! I…" Sesshomaru stopped
at the request and looked over at the young woman as she stood up, trembling
slightly. "Where am I? Please…don't leave me here…" she asked softly as she
gazed at him.
"Sesshomaru-sama doesn't have
to listen to the likes of you, human!" Jakken's rude voice spat out as he waved
his staff at the trembling young woman and she cringed. He squawked again as
Sesshomaru took the staff and tossed his servant along with the staff.
Looking over at the trembling
young woman, Sesshomaru frowned slightly as he saw his little companion, Rin,
take her hand and look up at him pleadingly. He nodded and headed off, hiding a
soft smile as Rin laughed happily and tugged their new travel partner along. He
glanced over into her eyes and felt something inside him soften as she smiled
gratefully up at him. 'What is this feeling?' he wondered silently before
asking, "What is your name, girl?"
"My name is Nasia. Nasia
Setsugya. And you are Sesshomaru-sama?" Nasia replied softly as she bowed her
head slightly.
"I am. My servant is Jakken and
this is Rin. Where do you come from, child?" Sesshomaru asked, his normally
indifferent tones tinged with curiosity and softness.
"T-tokyo, Japan…I…I was going
home when some kind of…rip or something…swallowed me up. Next thing I know, I'm
here in this world," Nasia answered quietly, blinking back tears. She smiled
down at Rin as the little girl tugged her hand reassuringly. She blinked in
surprise as a gentle finger brushed away her tears and she looked up into
Sesshomaru's concerned eyes.
He looked away and continued
walking. "You are in Japan still, but it would seem that you have traveled back
in time. It would seem that you are also of the same time as Inuyasha's Kagome,"
he mused aloud.
"K-kagome?? You…you know her?!"
Nasia's hopeful voice caught his attention and he looked over at her, curious.
"You know Kagome?" he asked,
then cocked an eyebrow as she nodded happily. "Interesting." He didn't say
anything else as they walked along before stopping for the night.
As the girls settled down to
sleep, Sesshomaru found himself watching Nasia, confused and curious on his
feelings as he watched her. Something stirred within him and he knew that
somehow, she had meant to find him.
